Amberley Working Museum is a 36 acre open-air museum dedicated to the industrial heritage of the south-east. Staffed largely by volunteers, the Museum contains a wide range of exhibits, ranging from transport-based collections, such as the Southdown

The Museum is also home to a number of resident craftspeople,who work to traditional methods.

Amberley is home to a wide variety of exhibitions and displays.

All of our exhibit areas are related in some way to the industrial heritage of the south east. From our Wheelwrights building to our Rural Telephone Exchange, the Museum promotes the role of the region's past material culture in influencing the present.

The Limeburners Restaurant - in the heart of the South Downs

The Limeburners Restaurant was officially opened in May 2004 by the Duke of Richmond & Gordon. A purpose built 130 seater restaurant with conference capabilities, it also includes a delightful terraced seating area for 50 people to enjoy the unique environment of Amberley.
